Background

The FHWA/TPF Intelligent Compaction (IC) research team cordially invites you to attend a workshop that showcases IC technologies.

Intelligent compaction is an emerging and evolving technology for quality control operations and its use is increasing world-wide. A FHWA and transportation pooled fund (TPF) study is currently being conducted to accelerate implementation of this technology in the U.S.

Goals

This workshop will familiarize attendees with:

• the fundamentals of IC technologies,
• specific issues regarding soils and asphalt IC,
• the practical aspects of implementation, and
• the benefits of the IC technology.
